Utah Valley University in Orem is hosting the Utah Diplomatic Conference on International Business Relations on Monday, March 21, 2022.

Utah Valley University will host the 2022 Utah Diplomatic Conference on International Business Relations on March 21.

The theme of this year’s conference will be “Lessons from COVID-19 and Ukraine: A Global Perspective”. The goal of this conference will be to facilitate a global conversation and encourage international relationships and business opportunities.

“It serves as a place of learning where local and foreign representatives exchange ideas, network and develop potential collaborations,” according to a press release issued by UVU.

Governor Spencer Cox will deliver the keynote address for the conference. Other notable speakers will include Felipe Queipo of the United Nations Department of Global Communications; Shelby Daiek, director of US business services; Aaron Starks, vice president of global business services at World Trade Center Utah; and James Burton, president of the consular corps of Utah.

Representatives from 27 different countries, including Mexico, Japan, Spain, the United Kingdom and many more, will be present.

“UVU is hosting the largest gathering of career diplomats in Utah since the 2002 Olympics for an engaging conversation about current issues related to COVID, Ukraine, and how these global events affect our international relations” , said Baldomero Lago, International Director of UVU. , said in a press release. “This is a free event for our academic community and will bring together city and state leaders with 37 career diplomats from 27 countries.”

The 2022 Diplomatic Conference on International Business Relations will take place at 9 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Sorensen Student Center on UVU’s Orem Campus.
