Tyler Announces Name of New Rose Complex Conference Center

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – The Rose Complex will be named after a very important person in Tyler’s history. City authorities announced on Wednesday building will be known as the WT Brookshire Conference Center.

“I wanted it to represent the history of our community. But also, a dedication to the future of our community,” said Town of Tyler Mayor Don Warren.

Mayor Don Warren has revealed it will be called the WT Brookshire Conference Center at the Pink Complex.

“Brookshire’s tradition of exceptional service was instilled 90 years ago when WT Brookshire made the decision to make the customer its top priority,” said Mayor Don Warren. “The company has come a long way since 1928, but it still strives to deliver the same exceptional customer service it was founded on. Our mission is to create and deliver exceptional experiences and value to our customers through the WT Brookshire Way.

The new center cost just under $28 million and is located near the East Texas State Fairgrounds and the Rose Garden Center.

In total, the new conference center will have approximately 60,000 square feet of meeting space. The city hopes this will help increase economic development, increase tourism and improve the quality of life for residents.

The new Rose Complex is entering its final stage of construction, which began in August 2021. It is expected to be completed by the end of October, just in time for the Texas Rose Festival. The CEO of Brookshire Grocery Company says he is delighted to honor its founder.

“It was my grandfather. He started our company and came to Tyler in 1928. He always said he didn’t have two cents to rub shoulders with. Then he opened a small store in downtown Tyler, Texas, and now we are here 94 years later thanks to the foundation he established in our core values,” said Brookshire CEO Brad Brookshire.

Mayor Warren said there couldn’t have been a better choice than Brookshire, which represents compassion and dedication to communities around the world.

“We are extremely excited to extend our involvement and dedication to the town of Tyler and surrounding communities in this brand new way,” said Brad Brookshire, President and CEO of Brookshire Grocery Co. “As for more than 93 years old, our mission is to provide customers with exceptional shopping experiences while strengthening our commitment and involvement in the communities we serve. We look forward to a long and meaningful partnership with the City of Tyler to help bring tourism and income to the city.
