Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE), owner of several sports teams, venues and businesses, has announced plans for a new multi-purpose venue for live events.
District E Powered by Ticketmaster will span nearly 14,000 square feet and include an Esports competition studio and a 150-seat venue that is expected to host more than 200 events per year.
The venue is slated to open this fall in downtown Washington DC’s Chinatown, adjacent to Capital One Arena, home of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and the NBA’s Washington Wizards.
MSE, which owns both the arena and the aforementioned sports teams, will offer District E Powered by Ticketmaster as a competition and training venue for its esports franchises, which include Wizards District Gaming and Caps Gaming.

Additionally, the site will establish an East Coast satellite office for global esports company Team Liquid and host state-of-the-art streaming pods to tap into the streaming industry.
