Kyrylo Budanov, head of the main intelligence agency of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, was appointed head of the intelligence affairs committee to the president.

“Kyrylo Budanov will also chair the Ukrainian President’s Intelligence Committee,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday evening in his traditional video message.

Until July 25, 2022, the Intelligence Committee was headed by Ruslan Demchenko, who was dismissed on July 24 from his position as head of the Intelligence Committee and first deputy secretary of the Security and Defense Council from Ukraine.

Combatant General Viktor Khorenko has been appointed as the new Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. “And General Hryhoriy Halahan was transferred to another direction and, with the aim of updating the Security Service of Ukraine, was appointed as the first deputy head of the Special Operations Center ‘A’ of the Security Service of Ukraine,” Zelensky said.

“And separately, today I would like to express my gratitude to our airborne assault troops, the Sicheslav Brigade, who landed two Russian military aircraft and a helicopter – in just over a day. We must do everything to to extend such a ‘landing’ experience to all Russian aircraft and missile products in our skies,” he said.
