KICC once again named Africa’s best meeting and conference venue

The Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) has been voted Africa’s premier meeting and conference venue for the third year in a row, and Nairobi as the continent’s premier business travel destination.

The recognition by the World Travel Awards (WTA) was announced Thursday during the unveiling of the Africa and Indian Ocean 2021 winners.

The WTA recognizes and rewards excellence in travel, tourism, meetings, incentive travel, conferences and exhibitions (Mice) and business events.

KICC Managing Director Nana Gecaga (pictured) thanked the KICC government, board and staff, as well as Kenyans for their support and continued efforts to ensure once again that the facility wins both awards for the third year in a row.

“We are honored to get such great recognition three years in a row,” she said in a statement.

“The awards are once again an indication of the remarkable efforts made by Kenya’s mouse and trade events sector to position the country as a premier destination for trade events. ”

Ms Gecaga said the awards will spearhead Kenya’s marketing campaigns, positioning the country as a preferred destination for trade events.

“KICC is delighted to announce that we will be hosting the next Africa and Indian Ocean Gala
ceremony, which will take place in 2022, ”she said.

“The event will be a platform for all of our Mice event and business partners to partner with KICC and showcase all that Kenya has to offer in the sector.”

The CEO said KICC streamlines conferences to ensure visiting delegates who come to
Kenya has full experience.

The company is also working with stakeholders to offer attractive conference packages that will allow delegates to experience all of Kenya.

“This move aims to increase the market share of conference tourism in Kenya locally and internationally,” Gecaga said.
