Kampala 2022 geopolitical conference kicks off next week

The 5th edition of the Kampala Geopolitics Conference is scheduled to start early next week at Makerere University.

Organized by the French Embassy in Kampala, the annual conference is an academic public event where difference experts and key players meet to discuss current geopolitical trends and topics.

This year’s event will be held from Monday, November 15 to Tuesday, November 16 at the Yusuf Lule Central Faculty of Education, Makerere University.

The conference organizers have promised high-level panelists who will discuss a wide range of issues affecting the country, the region and the rest of the world.

“He will address some key topics, including democracy and freedom of expression, which is one of our key values ​​in France. We are not saying that we are the only ones who can talk about democracy and freedom of expression, but it is important that we discuss these kinds of issues,” said HE Jules-Armand Aniambossou, French Ambassador to Uganda.

Other topics will be discussed at the event, including climate change, security, the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian war, culture and sports.

There will also be cultural performances and an exhibition, as well as a training session for journalists during the conference.

The event will be broadcast live on TV and Youtube and can be followed on various other social media platforms.

The Kampala Geopolitics Conference is organized by the French Embassy in partnership with Makerere University, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, UN Women Uganda and the Alliance Française de Kampala
