Conference of Culture Ministers aims to strengthen cooperation in the Arab world


Egyptian Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem said that the Conference of Ministers of Cultural Affairs of the Arab World aims to launch a comprehensive plan for Arab culture to strengthen joint cooperation between Arab countries.

She affirmed the need to strengthen cooperation in order to fight against the negative effects of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) which involves all cultural activities, stressing the importance of common Arab cultural work, because culture is the optimal framework to unify the Arab countries. .

Abdel Dayem’s remarks came during his speech at the press conference to announce the agenda for the 22sd session of the Conference of Ministers responsible for cultural affairs in the Arab world by the United Arab Emirates. She added that this session came to implement and develop a draft plan to advance cultural conditions in the Arab world and extend new bridges to the world.

The United Arab Emirates is hosting the 22nd edition of the Conference of Ministers of Culture of the Arab World, in the presence of 21 ministers, a number of directors general of international organizations, as well as a number of important personalities.

Emirati Culture and Youth Minister Noura Al Kaabi said holding the conference at Expo 2020 Dubai will provide an opportunity to learn more about the cultures of 192 countries.

This conference is also being held on the sidelines of the celebration of the International Day of the Arabic Language, the day when the Arabic language was adopted as an official language at the United Nations in 1973. The Arabic language plays a central role in the enrichment of the movement. world heritage and culture, as well as the development of human civilization, she added.

She explained that since its first session, the conference has provided a main platform to enhance the prospects of Arab cultural cooperation and crystallize new dimensions that strengthen the presence and advancement of Arab culture.

The conference will discuss the Comprehensive Plan for Arab Culture and its Modernization, with the aim of strengthening inter-Arab cultural cooperation with the cultures of the peoples of the world, as well as unifying Arab efforts in various cultural fields, including cooperation in the ‘registration of intangible heritage within the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and unification efforts The conference will also discuss an extraordinary program of ambassadors of Arab culture .
