Burnley Hotel and Spa named Best Large Wedding Venue

Although it only opened its doors less than three years ago, a country hotel and spa in Burnley is establishing itself as one of the best in the area, especially when it comes to weddings.

The Crow Wood Hotel and Spa on Holme Road is set in 40 acres of private grounds and guests can enjoy Pendle Hill views as well as luxury on-site facilities.

With 76 luxurious rooms and suites, “unmatched” wedding and conference venues, acclaimed chefs and the multi-award winning Woodland Spa, it is already on its way to becoming the hotel, spa and wedding venue of choice. for couples.

The Crow Wood Hotel and Spa

Crow Wood opened in October 2019, just five months before the coronavirus lockdown threw the wedding industry into chaos.

Since then, when restrictions permitted, the hotel has hosted over 80 weddings.

Paige Mallabourn, senior wedding planner at the hotel, said: “We’re the new kid on the block for weddings and we haven’t even had a full year of bookings yet.

“In 2020 we only had one wedding due to Covid restrictions – but we still won a few awards.”

The venue has already won two prestigious awards so far, one for Lancashire ‘Newcomer of the Year’ at the Wedding Industry Awards; the team will travel to London in the coming weeks to compete for the national title.

Their latest win came from the Hitched Wedding Awards which recognize the excellence offered by wedding businesses in the UK and signify a trusted seal of approval for couples planning their weddings.

Crow Wood has been named the best wedding venue at a major hotel in Lancashire.

Paige said the unique design of the hotel and spa really sets it apart.

She said: “The venue literally has it all as it was purpose built for weddings and we took the guest’s journey into perspective when we built the venue.

“We knew we needed a large room with gardens, an aperitif in a specific place, a beautiful long walk.

“Couples have asked me about the flaws in the room and I just don’t have any – I really couldn’t find any.”

Crow Wood Leisure’s multi-award winning spa, which was built in 2013, is just a ‘boardwalk’ from the hotel.

The Woodland Spa is set in 40 acres of peaceful Lancashire countryside.

Here you can enjoy a “thermal experience” or other luxury treatment that aims to make you feel rested and relaxed.

Paige said: “We have a spa, so people like to make a full weekend out of their visit.

“Guests can wake up in their suite or bridal room and relax for an extra day.”

The dining experience at Crow Wood is also considered exceptional.

Wilfred’s Restaurant is described as a “sleek and inviting dining venue” with its own open-air terrace.

The food has an Italian theme and puts a modern twist on ethnic dishes – and also a place where you can get a great Sunday roast.

Last year it received a rosette in AA’s ‘The Restaurant Guide 2022’, with inspectors saying Wilfred’s ‘has a rich, luxurious and sophisticated appeal’.

Only the finest ingredients are prepared with passion by the locally acclaimed chefs and transformed into “unmistakable signature dishes”.

You can enjoy your breakfast while the light streams through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

After dinner, relax in the Lobby Bar and enjoy a nightcap of your choice before heading to bed in the evening.

The restaurant has also received praise from online reviews.

One customer said: ‘Don’t deprive yourself of the opportunity to treat yourself to one of the best restaurants in Lancashire. Superb ambiance, decor, food, service and overall experience.”

Another wrote: “The service was absolutely amazing, the staff couldn’t do enough for you, the food was delicious, I would highly recommend this place.”

Bertram’s Restaurant, located in the Woodland Spa, is also not to be missed.

The critically acclaimed restaurant is a unique and modern adult-only restaurant and cocktail bar.

In 2020, it received Trip Advisor’s Traveller’s Choice award. In 2021, it received two rosettes in the AA Restaurant Guide.

For anyone planning to stay, especially for a wedding, Paige implores you to visit them in person.

She said, “Just come visit us. The place will speak for itself.”
