SIG UK recently took over ACC Liverpool for a two-day conference designed to build stronger relationships across the supply chain.
Five hundred and fifty SIG colleagues mingled with more than 40 supplier companies to celebrate the “return to growth” strategy, which emphasizes experience, technical understanding and building trusted partnerships.
The quick “meet the supplier” sessions on day one allowed everyone to network, forge and strengthen relationships.
The main suppliers invited to attend the event represented the diverse range of products handled by SIG UK – from essential roofing, insulation, interiors and fixings to specialist engineered solutions for fire, acoustic and thermal protection. The format proved successful with over 1,000 face-to-face meetings held in the morning alone.
In a more familiar presentation format, the SIG UK Board of Directors took the stage to outline their vision for the business and describe how far SIG UK has come.
Recent successes were celebrated and an assessment of future growth opportunities presented to a receptive audience. The first closing day was a talk by broadcaster and expedition leader Monty Halls emphasizing the importance of culture.
The second day of the conference opened with several “silent seminars”, giving suppliers the opportunity to share information and inspiration around their cutting-edge products. Seminars were held simultaneously via headsets, allowing multiple presentations to take place simultaneously and enabling delegates to plan their time efficiently.
Speaking at the conference, Phil Johns, Managing Director of SIG UK, said: “This conference was a key part of our ongoing strategy to build and strengthen our key relationships internally and with suppliers.
