Aprirose, the property investment company, has announced that the historic Selsdon Park Hotel in Croydon will become the second location for Birch, the award-winning lifestyle hotel concept.

The hotel is due to open in 2023 and is a joint venture between Aprirose and Birch Hospitality Ltd following the success of the first site in Hertfordshire.

The 200-acre park estate currently includes a 150-room hotel, located in a 17e Century traditional brick mansion, with meeting and conference facilities, a range of catering facilities, leisure centre, tennis courts, running track and recently closed golf course.

The hotel and grounds are currently undergoing a major renovation adopting the Birch philosophy of working with the existing building and site attributes, enhancing and improving them through thoughtful interventions with strong links to the nature and the outdoor landscape. The concept was creatively spearheaded by co-founder Chris King and the team at Birch with Adam Mursal of Pillar Consulting again serving as development lead.

The hotel is located in South Croydon, on the edge of the Surrey countryside, one mile from Selsdon Wood Nature Reserve and 25 minutes from Clapham Junction.
